Espoo, Finland, 5.10.2026 – Usva Energia Oy has closed the sale of a 100 MW / 400 MWh ready-to-build (RTB) battery energy storage system (BESS) project located in Pyhäjoki, Finland, to Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd. (“Enlight”) , a global leading renewable energy company. The transaction
marks Usva Energia’s third RTB divestment in 2026, following the sale of its 100 MW BESS project in Teuva to Prime Capital AG in March.
Developed by Usva Energia, the project reached RTB status in July 2026 following a comprehensive development process including site acquisition, permitting, grid connection preparation and technical design. The project is planned to connect to Elenia’s 110 kV distribution grid, and is designed to provide flexibility and balancing capacity to the power system while supporting the integration of renewable energy.
Aarnematti Keinänen, CEO of Usva Energia, commented:
“Completing this transaction with Enlight, a leading global renewable energy developer and international independent power producer (IPP), is a milestone for Usva and a strong endorsement of our development platform and the quality of our work. Each transaction of this scale deepens our track record and strengthens our position as a long-term development partner in the Nordic energy market. I am particularly proud of the transaction team led by Tuomo Tirkkonen, which successfully executed the deal. I would also like to thank Enlight for their swift and professional approach throughout the process.”
Adi Leviatan, CEO of Enlight:
“With the acquisition of the Pyhäjoki project, we are expanding Enlight’s energy storage portfolio in Finland and strengthening our broader European platform. Acquiring projects at the ready-to-build stage enables us to move quickly toward construction and operation, capitalize on the market opportunity that is available today, and build a strong foundation for Enlight’s continued growth in Finland. As renewable generation continues to grow, energy storage plays an increasingly important role in providing flexibility and balancing capacity to the Finnish power system. We appreciate
the work Usva Energia has done to bring the project to ready-to-build status and its professional approach throughout the transaction. We look forward to applying Enlight’s experience and capabilities as we advance the project through its next phase.”
Usva Energia was advised by Hannes Snellman as legal advisor in the transaction.
