RECRUITING: PROJECT DEVELOPER

Usva Energia is a Finnish growth company operating in the renewable energy sector. We develop innovative energy storage solutions that support the green transition, increase the share of renewables in the grid, and strengthen Finland’s energy self-sufficiency. We are now looking for a committed and open-minded Project Developer to take a key role in developing Usva’s upcoming project portfolios together with our experienced and ambitious team.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

In this versatile role, you will have the opportunity to take part in developing energy storage projects comprehensively from start to finish – from early-stage feasibility studies and land acquisition to construction readiness. The role is dynamic and broad in scope, offering a great opportunity to build expertise in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifying and assessing new potential locations for energy storage projects and conducting related studies (e.g. zoning, grid connection, land ownership).
• Preparing contracts and negotiating with various stakeholders (e.g. landowners, grid companies, municipalities/cities).
• Coordinating project development phases and ensuring progress on schedule and within budget.
• Compiling required documentation and collaborating with authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders.
• Supporting the preparation of investment plans and profitability assessments, and assisting in the permitting processes throughout their different phases.
• Contributing to the preparation of investor materials and supporting project sales and due diligence processes.

LONG TERM RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing and managing the project development process in collaboration with the team.
• Actively contributing to the design of new business areas and project concepts.
• Keeping up with industry developments and participating in stakeholder collaboration (e.g. networking events, workshops).
• Identifying and generating new ideas for continuous improvement of projects and the project development process.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• A relevant educational background, for example in engineering, law, or business.
• Interest in renewable energy, electricity markets, and sustainable development.
• Strong communication and organizational skills – you know how to manage multiple tasks and communicate clearly with different stakeholders.
• Proficiency in commonly used office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• The ability to grasp complex entities and move things forward independently.
• Excellent Finnish and good English language skills.

We also consider the following as an advantage:

• Experience in renewable energy or energy sector projects.
• Experience in project development or project management.
• Understanding of electricity markets, land use planning, and permitting processes.
• Experience with data analysis or project management tools.

PRACTICAL DETAILS:

• Type of employment: Full-time, permanent
• Start date: As soon as possible, as agreed
• Location: Our office is located in Ruskeasuo, Helsinki. We work in a hybrid model and hope you can be present at the office at least three days per week.
• Salary (full-time): €2900–4800/month, to be negotiated based on experience and skills.
