The Ruotsinkylä energy storage project is located in the municipality of Tuusula in Uusimaa, close to the most important electricity transmission and distribution networks. The project area enables efficient energy storage and utilization as part of the region's energy system.

An energy storage facility with a total output of 30 megawatts (MW) and a storage capacity of 60 megawatt hours (MWh) is planned for Tuusula. The storage facility will consist of individual containers with capacities ranging from 2 to 5 MWh. The energy storage facility will support the balance of the electricity grid and provide the opportunity to store energy when production exceeds demand and release it when consumption is high.



The project is currently in the planning and permitting phase. More detailed information about the location of the energy storage facility and the number of containers will be determined as the project progresses.
